How to Sleep Better
Practical Advice from an Ex-Insomniac

The purpose of SleepForAll.com is to help you get to sleep, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed.

Sleep is a natural process. You don’t need to purchase any products to force you to sleep and certainly don’t need to medicate yourself.

The reason why most people can’t sleep is simple, they’re interrupting the natural process of sleep. There are many things you can do to prevent sleep that can cause insomnia. But there are also many things you can do to enhance sleep. People get into bad sleep habits and they often don’t even realise they have done so.

Just by understanding how sleep works, you can see exactly what you should avoid and what you can do to give the natural process of sleep a helping hand. Sleep is natural, but like all natural cycles, it can easily get off track.

By following the advice on this website, no matter how long you’ve been suffering from insomnia, you could be sleep better within a week, and completely cure insomnia within a month. This is what happened to me after more than 10 years of chronic insomnia.

There is not one piece of advice I can give you to cure long term insomnia. What’s required is a series lifestyle changes and new sleep promoting habits, backed up with a solid understanding of how sleep works.

I’m not a sleep doctor and this website isn’t a replacement for medical help. I’m just a regular guy who has overcome his insomnia using a variety of techniques and habits that I will be sharing with you on this website.

Getting better sleep and overcoming insomnia is often a subject only discussed in the medical and academic communities. Websites of this nature tend to be very dry, technical, and lack any clear practical advice. But sleep is a fascinating subject. Many people have problems with sleep and I believe this is in part due to the lack of clear sleep advice. As someone who has suffered with insomnia for so many years, this is something I want to help change, and that’s the reason this website was created.

SleepForAll.com has a range of articles, categorised into a number of series:

Too Much Sleep

Too Much SleepYou might be surprised to find a whole section on how to avoid getting too much sleep on a website dedicated to helping people overcome sleep and insomnia problems, but I believe the issue of getting too much sleep gets nowhere near enough attention as it deserves.

Create the Perfect Sleep Environment

Create the Perfect Sleep EnvironmentThe better your sleep environment, the easier it will be for you to enter into deep refreshing sleep. A positive sleep environment is one that actively promotes sleep, where as a negative sleep environment naturally suppresses sleep and promotes insomnia.

By sleeping in a poor sleep environment, you can develop what’s called learned insomnia. This is where your mind and body expects you to stay awake through the night and so doesn’t begin to prepare your body for sleep until much later in the night.

The habit of learned insomnia is supported by your environment or outside influences. Your mind naturally associates events and situations with certain assumptions.
